The Conservative run Cornwall Council propose to increase car park season ticket prices from £195 to £400 this year and then to £600 next year. I and my fellow Lib dem Councillors are opposed to these unacceptable price rises. The councils price increase will mean more people will find somewhere else to park for free in a residential areas. The way to increase revenue is to reduce our car park charges so more people will park in our empty car parks. Many of the Council Cabinet who are making this decision claim to be business people but how many people would continue to shop if the owner put up their prices by 200% All Cornwall Council are doing by increasing charges by 200% is driving people away from their car parks and their revenue will go down.
