12 - STEALTH CAMPING

During October 2009 I cycled nearly 1000 miles, solo, from Lands End in Cornwall to John O' Groats in Scotland to try and raise money for Oxfam. I made a video diary on my way of my thoughts and experiences. Whilst I was a keen mountain biker I had never done a cycle tour before. I used a basic £200 commuter bike (because it was what I had available at the time) and tried to save money by taking kit with me. Please support Oxfam by donating via my Just Giving website at ... www.justgiving.com Episode 12 - My first night stealth camping.

The Maya Diaries - Episode 11 - Cornwall Holiday 2009 Day Four

Here we have the final video of my Cornwall holiday where we return to St Michael's Mount, thankfully today it is open. When you visit the Mount the similarities between Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy, France are easy to see. The weather was lovely and the scenery was amazing. All throughout this holiday will really lucky to have great weather, considering we didn't have one day of rain this has been the best holiday in Cornwall for the weather. After St Michaels Mount we travelled further to the end of the country and visited Mousehole. A gorgeous picturesque fishing town with lovely sidestreets just begging to be explored. From Mousehole we carried on down the coast to visit the Minack Theatre. A staggeringly unique phenomenon that has been seen to believed however our personal exploration will have to wait until another time. Our final destination of the day was land's end. While the overt commercialisation of the area has had a detrimental affect on its beauty once you get beyond the cheap attractions and stand on the precipice of the last cliff of England you begin to appreciate its beauty and its appeal. We end our video with some Morris dancing, quintessentially English and in my view a perfect way to end the series of videos documenting my holiday in Cornwall. Thanks to everyone for watching and I'll be back soon with another video. Thank you for watching and don't forget to subscribe to be kept upto date instantly. All multimedia displayed is done so with fair use ...

Whilst camping in Cornwall (UK) I thought I had better not let my new subscribers and friends down by slacking off. So here is another of my whisper video's this one is from the camp site I was staying at. It was pitch black at the time so I have added a photo of the entrance to the camp site. I hope this whisper relaxes you, there is a lot of atmosphere as I filmed it outside at around midnight next to an open field, the wind was blowing, the sea could be heard in the background and it was very peaceful. If this relaxes you let me know, and as always, don't forget to rate, comment and subscribe! Enjoy

Diversity during your Cornwall Holidays

There are a lot of things that you can do during your Cornwall holidays especially when you are staying at the Cornwall holiday cottages. It is important that you stay at the Cornwall holiday cottages as they are luxurious and comfortable so you do not have to worry about having a place to rest at the end of a busy day during your Cornwall holidays. Cornwall holiday cottages are also near major attractions and transportation options so you do not have to worry about accessibility. If you are bringing your whole family with you during your Cornwall holidays or you have special needs, you can also cook your own meals and save as the Cornwall holiday cottages have self-catering facilities. Whatever the ages of your family or friends are, there is always something to do that will interest him in Cornwall.  Here are some of them.

Multi Activity at Active- 8

There are many activities that you can do during your Cornwall holidays and going to the Active-8 Centre in St.

Austell will be a great choice for its diversity of activities.  It would be a good idea to leave your Cornwall cottages early so you will reach the centre at 9 a.m. The activities start at 9:15 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. The Multi-Activity program at the Active – 8 Centre is one of the recommended activities that you can do together with your family especially since the minimum age requirement is just 6 years old. A popular activity at the Multi-Activity Centre is the "Climbing Wall". You can also try out archery.  If you have never done so, this would be a great time to try out especially as there are qualified instructors to teach you.  You can try indoor or outdoor archery so whatever the weather is, you can always try out this activity either at the outdoor gallery or at the indoor facility.  You can also try out the "High Ropes Course" which will test your nerves for altitude. After this activity, go mountain biking and take in the scenic views of the place.  This is one day of activities that will surely let you have fun during your Cornwall holidays.  You can then rest well at the Cornwall holiday cottages after a day of vigorous activity.

Trevarno Estate and National Museum of Gardening

The Trevarno Estate is a must-visit during your Cornwall holidays as it is not just a highly popular place but is also easily accessible from your Cornwall holiday cottages. It has beautiful gardens that are a sight to behold with all 70 acres maintained beautifully.  It is home to a large collection of beautiful flowers, specimen shrubs and towering trees. There are many other features in the Estate that will make exploring one interesting activity during your Cornwall holidays. The National Museum of Gardening can also be found at the Estate.  It was started in 1998 and was originally located in the old Carriage House.  In 2001, another house was built particularly for housing the museum and the collections and exhibit were transferred there.  The museum has 10 different themed areas.  You can find the biggest collection of garden tolls in the whole UK. A section of the museum shows tools used by blacksmiths way back to the 17th century.  This is a great place to go to during our Cornwall holidays while you are staying at the Cornwall holiday cottages.

Cornwall's Little Bit of Eden

When you go to Cornwall for a holiday you'll find that there is a lot of beauty and serenity there. Sure, there are plenty of things to do, but if you want to do something very quiet you can do that, too. You don't have to run around doing all kinds of crazy things, and you also don't have to do everything that others think you should do. Instead, do what you want. One of the best things to do is to get involved with the Eden project. This is a garden and biomes area where you can explore the beauty of nature in a controlled environment.

There are things for children to do, and the area's fun for adults, as well, so everyone who comes along with you on holiday can have a lot of enjoyment and their own little piece of Eden. Nature is popular with just about anyone who takes a holiday to Cornwall, but for some people it's not enough just to explore it.

They want to get up close to nature and really look at what all it has to offer - and they want to do it in an environment that's enjoyable for them and fun for those who come along with them.

If you need somewhere to take your children and other family members on a great holiday, Cornwall can be a wonderful choice. In addition to the beauty of nature and the Eden Project, Cornwall has great food and wonderful accommodations. There are hotels, cottages, and campsites for you to enjoy, so no matter what kind of experience you're looking for - and can afford - you can find it in Cornwall. If you talk to the locals they can give you ideas about where you want to stay and what kinds of food and attractions you might want to be involved with. It's very likely that they'll recommend the Eden Project to you along with everything else that they might suggest that you do and see while you're in Cornwall. The area has such a rich history and so much to offer that it's almost impossible to ignore such a great place to take a holiday.
