During October 2009 I cycled nearly 1000 miles, solo, from Lands End in Cornwall to John O' Groats in Scotland to try and raise money for Oxfam. I made a video diary on my way of my thoughts and experiences. Whilst I was a keen mountain biker I had never done a cycle tour before. I used a basic £200 commuter bike (because it was what I had available at the time) and tried to save money by taking kit with me.
