How to get to Cornwall

Today Cornwall is becoming a very popular place for people from around the world to visit for a holiday.  In fact in recent years the popularity of this part of the UK has been on the increase and is becoming just as popular as other parts of Europe, such as Greece and the Costa del Sol.

One of the main reasons that people like to visit this part of the UK is down to it having some wonderful sandy beaches.  Plus the weather here tends to be a little less inclement compared to other parts of the UK as it have the Atlantic Ocean close by.

Certainly of a beautiful day when the sun is shining one can almost be forgiven for thinking that as you laze on the beach you may be somewhere a little more exotic.  It is for this reason as well that this part of England has gained a reputation of being known as the English Riviera.

You have several ways of actually getting to Cornwall.  Of course you can arrive by car and the journey from London on average will take around 5 hours to complete.  But of course the journey may take a little bit longer as there are many wonderful places that you pass by and may wish to stop and explore.  For example if you choose to travel along one of the smaller roads instead of using the main motorway you may wish to stop at the attraction known as Stonehenge that is located on the A303 just by the small market town of Amesbury, Wiltshire.

The other ways to travel to Cornwall include by train and by bus.  Again with both this methods of transport expect the journey to last between 4 and 5 hours.  But if you are travelling with young children then it is worth considering letting the train take the strain.  Plus of course travelling by train you won't be caught up in the many traffic jams that will occur as you drive through major areas of this part of England such as Bristol.  In fact you can quietly sit back relax and so get your holiday off to an even better start.
